BWB Food Delivery (2020-2022)
Summer 2020 to Summer 2022
Affected Area(s): City of Chicago (all neighborhoods)
Project Overview
In the Summer of 2020 many families in Chicago experienced food insecurity due to the pandemic. Members of the local Burning Man community banded together, eventually banding with the Soup Group & BWB, in order to provide an amazing variety of healthy meals to families all over the city. As the pandemic lessened we noticed the need for our meals had not. As some recipients went back to work, new families were added onto our delivery list and the project doubled in size. As recipients no longer needed our meals they would let us know, often joining in to help cook or deliver for current recipients in the program. This project was funded 100% on private donations from members of the Chicago Burning Man community & their family & friends.
