Past Projects: A Legacy of Action and Impact

Over the years, we have initiated and supported a wide range of impactful community projects, each embodying our mission of collaboration, innovation, and civic engagement. Here are some of the most notable projects we’ve undertaken:

Community Activism Support: Coordinating rides and providing marshalling for various community activism events based on the needs indicated by participants. These initiatives were always non-partisan and driven by the community.
Get-Out-The-Vote Drivers: Providing free transportation to and from polling places during the 2018 and 2020 elections in Chicago, ensuring accessibility and encouraging civic participation.
Yearly Fundraisers: Hosting annual fundraisers to support Burners Without Borders initiatives and expand the reach of our community projects.
Winter Ball Fundraiser: Our highly anticipated yearly gala event that brought together changemakers and supporters to celebrate and fund meaningful initiatives.
Community Grant Salon: An annual event that awarded micro-grants to innovative community projects, fostering local leadership and creative solutions to pressing challenges.
Disaster Relief Efforts: Providing aid to communities affected by disasters, including in Louisiana, Texas, California, Costa Rica, Florida, Illinois, and Kentucky. These efforts spanned emergency response and rebuilding initiatives.
Pandemic Food Delivery in Chicago: During the COVID-19 pandemic, we organized a food delivery program to assist vulnerable populations in Chicago, ensuring no one was left behind.

While these projects represent our history, we’re excited to focus on new initiatives like the BWB Free Store, Arts Education for CPS Newcomers, the Winter Ball Fundraiser, and the Civic Ignition Workshop.
